Hello lovely soul!
Over the past year or so, I have had quite a few conversations with pastors of various denominations in regards to how this ministry could come alongside theirs and support their church family; sharing the story of my faith walk and gifts to open hearts and minds to the myriad ways of God. Giving testimony or witnessing to a Christian community about my experience with the Holy Spirit is uncomfortable for some, untimely for others but seeds have been planted. I am excited however to share with you that just last week I had a conversation with a pastor of a prominent church in Lake Norman that is very interested in exploring this more with me! Change is unwelcome in some circles; makes people uncomfortable and we all know what this feels like personally. Some change might be welcomed but there can be limits where fear overtakes our eagerness to embrace change because well, change means 'unknown'. This is precisely though what I've learned through my experience of the Holy Spirit is that the moment we try to limit God (Love) or put Him in a box, we quench the Spirit and in essence kill it, uninvite it, which is an act of disbelief in the omnipotence of God/Love. Love will never hurt us, actually just the opposite. Love heals all wounds, binds the brokenhearted, inspires and gives hope, brings unity and peace. And yet, 'we' use how we interpret God to create separation and division instead of unification. God's ways are beyond measure, beyond knowing, beyond containing and the moment we think we 'know it all', we really come to learn that we know nothing at all in the grand scheme of things! The heart of this ministry is to help people hear the call of reconciliation regardless of their religion or spiritual system. To reconcile ourselves with Love, to forgive ourselves, to forgive others so that we can love all of God's children wholly. This can look like ecumenism, where the varied denominations and various churches come together as one family. This can also look like those outside of the church buildings (spiritual community) to walk alongside their brothers and sisters (neighbors in churches) where Love's Way is what the world sees through our actions. Where Love's Voice is heard and known simply by the level of introspection we have individually to forgive and follow the words of Jesus in Matthew 22: 37-40 which is known also as the Golden Rule "You shall love God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself." For me, I see this as putting Love on the "altar" of your heart and making all decisions from this place; where Love is the motivator, not money, not public opinion etc. This includes loving yourself as God loves you and seeing that we are all born of the same family, created in the image of this Love. When we can all function from this place, all forms of division, fear and separation are dissolved. So I invite you to see where you can build a bridge instead of a wall between you and whomever it is that you encounter today. Every person is a face of God looking at you, most have simply forgotten who they are in God's eyes... maybe you can help them see the world and their place in it differently with something as simple as a smile if no words come to you. It doesn't have to be a 'spiritually' toned interaction because everything we do can be love-filled to overflowing, or not. The choice is yours, the choice is mine, the choice is ours. How will you mirror love to those that are placed in your path today? What sound will you choose to make today? Love to you always, Dammah #godislove #christconsciousness #weareone
